Curriculum for MA in Human Rights & Transitional Justice

The One-Year MA in Human Rights and Transitional Justice aims to give its students an extensive, interdisciplinary understanding in a wide variety of fields relating to human rights issues and transitional justice

Therefore, the program offers the following courses:

Elective Courses:

A choice of more than 10 additional courses on human rights and/or transitional justice.

Core courses (students must take at least 4 courses):

  • International Human Rights Law: Core Principles – Prof. Yuval Shany
  • Terrorism, Counter-Terrorism and Human Rights – Prof. David Kretzmer
  • International Humanitarian Law: Contemporary Challenges, Contemporary Conflicts – Dr. Rotem Giladi
  • Human Dignity in Comparative Perspective – Dr. Doron Shultziner
  • Introduction to Transitional Justice – Dr. Ron Dudai
  • Immigration Law and Policy – Dr. Ruvi Ziegler

Workshops (at least 2):

  • International Law – Prof. Moshe Hirsch and Dr Shay Dothan
  • Public Law and Human Rights – Prof. Yoav Dotan and Prof. Barak Medina
  • Transitional Justice Colloquium: International and Comparative Perspectives – Prof. Ruti Teitel
  • Transitional Justice Colloquium: Perspectives on the Arab-Israeli Conflict – Prof. Ruti Teitel
